I generally stick with kedgeree. I'll have to try champagne with it this
year - in the interest of science, naturally.

  2. Good, because I note with some degree of satisfaction that when TOG
recently directed some jibe at me in a thread to which I had not
contributed, no one batted an eyelid.

Blaney and Ace are getting more and more like two little girls in the
playground. Blaney's last post reminded me of a younger (female) member of
my family, one day sticking her bottom lip out and saying, 'I'm not talking
    to Andrea anymore !'

Rest assured, if anyone on here makes me 'bitter', it's not Ace, and it's
    certainly not Blaney.

  6. As I'm the only Frenchman posting, I can't really say that I make myself
    bitter, can I ?

Ben Blaney bored us all completely to death with wittery prose along
    the lines of:
    You really need to ask?
I actually [1] thought he may have stopped with all that. I'm not
    surprised though.
I thought long and hard about this [2]. I thought it's because he's
realised what Des is really like, but then again, it could be Bruce's
    hair.
Shouldn't have bothered in the first place, IMO. He's in my killfile
and it's been like that for ages. I've got no intention of removing him.

    [1] naïvely, I suppose.
    [2] Well, okay, I didn't.

That's much more convenient for me, actually, as I'm flying to San
    Francisco on Boxing Day.

I didn't know about the sweet or not thing for Brioche and so I find
myself in the somewhat unusual position of being able to comment upon
something without knowing a thing about it and yet not doing so but I
always thought it was actually a bread and not a cake.

Well, I traditionally had lightly toasted NI-style soda-bread, with a
little butter. In recent years, I've even toyed with the - slightly
heretical notion of dicing and cooking the salmon in with the eggs,
and adding some decently strong cheddar to the mix - it makes the
whole affair somewhat more robust, though.

and don't totally knock the student alternative to all of this: cider
on your cornflakes instead of milk.

  20. Exactly.. and really, I couldn't give a toss, but Ace has this annoying
habit of 'name-dropping', and doing his best to appear knowledgeable on all
things. The big 'fly in the ointment' on this one, is that when he posts
on France, it is patently obvious to anyone, that he knows ****-all about
    what he's talking about.
