    Time: 3:55 p.m.
Place: Northbound 280 , south of the Geneva/Ocean Avenue Exit

Thundering home on The Beem, all two cylinders ferociously gobbling up
    the pavement, life is good...
    Until...
    "cough, sputter, wheeze....kapoof.."
So I glide onto the little island of serenity between the San Jose
Avenue On Ramp and the maniacal commuteroids that are whizzing past at
somewhat over the safe limit ( it seems that way when you are standing
    next to a freeway )
Hmmph. My cell phone is tucked neatly away in pair of pants, at home,
but there is a call box, and I have three cigarettes and a book of matches.
I light up, and just then two chp ride by and give me a look...45
seconds later the Freeway Freakout Rescue Truck pulls up and offers his
assistance. I think it may be the fuel filter or pump but ask for some
gas , just in case my gas gauge isn't telling the whole truth.
It starts and runs weakly but dies, again and again.
    Just then/....
my regular riding buddy, John pulls off the freeway and parks behind me.
Hmm, is this what they call serendipity?
He asks if I need to use his phone, OK, yes, I do!
He hops into the Rescue Truck and starts dialing KC Engineering, who
give him the number of CC Rider Motorcycle Towing , my new favorite bay
area business. A few minutes later The Beem is snugly tied down to the
bed of the towing trailer behind a beefy pickup truck, John is waving
goodbye and I am on my way back to the Haight.
I got home around 445 after all, so all things considered, it wasn't a
    bad commute.
Oh, and it only cost 55.00 for the tow, which I think is very reasonable.
So let me recommend these guys...

  2. Your Beem needs to quit smoking. Motorcycles do not do emphysema
    gracefully. ;-}
