    Utter bilge.

There are a lot more riders going on to do their full licence test than
    giving up after a year.

That may well do their full test after a year but this does not
necessarily mean they buy another helmet or even continue biking into
their old age. FFS think about it for a moment, if all those bike
licenses out there actually rode bikes Blur would be taking notice of
    us.

I still maintain that the majority of helmet sales will be once in a
lifetime only and the manufacturers and retailers know this and rip us
    off accordingly.

    He won't listen.

I based my assumption purely on the numbers of helmets that I sell into
dealers. I sell one brand of helmets in one small corner of the UK.
When you think of how many other brands are on the shelves and expand
that area to cover the whole of the UK, there's a lot of fucking
helmets being sold from shops daily. There are nowhere near that number
of new riders starting out and buying lids. They account for a fraction
    of the lids sold.

As you obviously know more about this subject than I do, having studied
the helmet buying habits of newbies, you give me your figure.

You are way off the mark. Newbies don't even account for 25% of new
helmet sales imo, not even in the price band we sell in.

Have a very close look at the FM in the RiDE feature.

It's not one of ours rebadged. The vents are all wrong and none of our
adult poly ranges have the sliding side vents. Our rebadged lids are
all based on current shells, not specials. Some older HJCs had those
side vents too and they looked similar to ours, but not the same. The
    visor looks similar though.

I didn't think it was one of ours as such, but I did wonder if there
had been some co-operation in China. FWIW, there's a couple of older
Takais in the Carlisle HG, with a similarly similar (IYSWIM) chin bar
    and vent arrangement.

Takei are a Hein Gericke brand name. HG buy in lids from different
manufacturers that have been rebadged. I know they used THH and driver
as suppliers because I saw the manufacturers stickers inside the
helmets I had in my shop. It's feasible that they bought ours rebadged
    at some point.

    Cobblers.

Six years of riding and I'm on my third helmet. Looking for a fourth
    shortly.
