Ouch, that'd suck. (but honestly it might be, depends where the bastards took it from)

  3. This raises an interesting question. What security did you have on it?

    Hope you get it back.

Well good to know that I could have an R6 within a few mins... I'd be
walking down NOW buying 2 disclocks, and a long extension cord, plug
it into 240 V and put it on the handlebars...

  6. Well, what could be expected of someone who reads Unclescum's

    and responds with,

This Flinders Lane is in Melbourne, Bob. It's_not_a block away from where
    your bike tempts thieves...

    IK,
1981 Z250, kept under bushes 35km up a fire trail in the Brindabellas,
guarded by a mob of specially-trained carnivorous kangaroos with a family of
dropbears nesting in the eucalypts immediately above.
(with apologies to Superbiker, ex-SydRide denizen and all-round mad bastard)

Dunno mate...must be some sort of perversion thing.

If I have to replace it I am gonna keep my options open and maybe get
something different this time...and definately not green.

*looks at the map of Melbourne which clearly shows Market St to be 1 block
further down Flinders Lane than William Street (or 1 block nearer if you're
going the other way) and wonders what IK is on about*

have you done the slow crawl of local streets to your work??

Cops wont give a ****, you should look yourself, thats if you want it
back. If the plate was on anotehr bike, the bike must be local....

Handy tip for the quick to criticize.... Cops to not get assigned to "Go out
on the street and looking for a specific stolen vehicle" duty.

And just to make some people out there feel old, I went to school with Tony Bonner's (the chopper
    pilot) daughter.

We also had the son of Simon Wincer (guy who made the Man From Snowy River movie) in our class.

Yeah - my "dad"! "Mark Hammond" was his eldest son, and as a result I
spent most of my high-school years being called "Skippy". When I moved
to Melb, my (mad!) best mate picked up on it again, and now everyone in
the real world knows me as "Skip".

I did consider trying to be one of the gang, and configuring my
newsreader to use my nickname for just this one group, leaving my real
name for the rest. But then I thought that would just make me even more
    of a wanker <wink>

    Mark.

Exactly - they get assigned "harass the volunteer marshals with bogus noise
    tickets".

You're right. I had Bob confused with an R6 guy from Sydney...
