I've got a track that I really want to know who it's by so I can buy the
CD. No-one I've played it to seems to recognise it. Someone suggested
using a music recognition service. Google shows some company has hooked
up with the odd mobile phone provider, but I've not found out any more
details. Anyone know anything about these places?

  3. I've used Shazzam before. Dial 2580 from your mobile phone, hold the
phone up to the speaker and play a bit of the track, receive an SMS
message back with the artist and song-title. Worked a treat for me.

I can't remember what it costs per call. Probably about a quid or so.

Just post a text rendition here using dums and dahs. It usually
    works.

Or even better post some lyrics.

Or even better than that stick the lyrics you can make out into
    Google.

I can't do the gmail thing properly, but I could log in and send itself
the attachment, I suspect it might break the "drive" though.
dum dum de dum, dum de dummmmmmmmmmm.

The problem is when I do that in my head, it always comes out like the
    song from Pulp Fiction.

Anyway most of you have heard it - it was the track from the base jumping
video a month or so ago.

Is it a cover of the Hawkwind song?

**** - I missed that first time around - am glad I found it just now.

    Was this the one?... http://www.gougoule.com/bonus/basejump.php

I've got goose-bumps watching it. Makes biking seem like childs play by
    comparison.

Dunno if this is the track you're thinking of but about 7 minutes in there's
a classical/strings version of Metallica's 'Nothing else matters'.

  14. As mentioned elsewhere - Juno Reactor.
It's track 5 from the album Shango
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004YSAT/darkwings-21 which
is pretty much unavailable now iirc.

I <ahem> have that (plus more JR) on mp3... <whistles and nods towards
    email address in headers>

Uh, no. It's getting there, but I don't put the music over the video at
the end. Anyway, I'm probably not using that track on this video.
Got mine this week. I just haven't had time to watch it yet. Maybe
    tonight.

Weren't you the one who asked what the track was at the time? If so, how
    did you find out?
