Where I come from, mardy means spiteful, in a "It's my ball and I'm
not playing" kind of way. "Mard-arsed" would be about equivalent.
"Soft ****" is a long way from it, however you choose to define the
latter.

Seems that beav, far from educating you in his own dialect, is
actually unable to understand it, or at least to share that
understanding, himself.

Well, putting aside the moral issues of giving someone a kicking, I was
more referring to the fact that if a dog shits on the carpet, you don't
wait 6 weeks before chastising it, otherwise it doesn't learn not to
shit on the carpet IYSWIM.
