MSDE Expert?

  1. Any Sharepoint or MSDE experts in the house?

I've just install Sharepoint Team Services onto a 2003 server and it's
all working nicely. However MSDE seems to default to storing the data
    in C:\program files\microsoft sql server\MSSQL$SHAREPOINT\Data and I
want it elsewhere - I don't like using the boot drive for data, and
there isn't too much free space on that drive.

I know feck all about MSDE or SQL (as you can tell) and I've messed
about with no joy. How can I either move the data folder
elsewhere (another drive on the same server) or reinstall telling the
    installer to use another drive?

    Ta.

Did the program set up an ODBC SQL connection? If so, then perhaps you can
alter it in the DSN section?

(admin tools >> data sources >> system dsn)

    Worth a look.

DSN's are used to point to a data source - not where that data source stores
    it's data.

Does it have an Enterprise manager type app?

'Normal' SQL allows you to see (and set) where the data files are by right
clicking on the database and selecting 'properties' - or you can do it
through ISQL if you're happy with that...
