    MRAA Toy Run 2003 - Sunday 14th December 2003

This year the event assembles at St. Kilda road in front of the
Victorian Barracks in the service lane facing the City.

Riders will assemble from 9am till 10.30am where they will be waved off
for the parade ride through the City and then finishing in the centre of
    Melbourne at Federation Square.

So that is about all of a 3k ride? Or is the route a little more
    interesting?

The toy run route has never been interesting. Its an event, not a ride.

As Nev Says, its about the kids and shit, not about doing the GOR on
    the way home!

Yeah, but that is *real* short. If they get a decent turnup, the first
riders would nearly finish before the last has started. I've never done
a Melbourne one, but used to do the Adelaide ones years ago, and somehow
they managed to make it about *both* the event and the ride. Too many
bikes for "sports" riding, but a decent ride with a huge number of
bikes, all for a good cause, was 1/2 the event in itself.
