But being American, mythbusters completely missed the point. Why would
anyone WANT to immigrate from Canada to the USA? It's a bit like
    wanting an AWA!!

Homer, "We need a doer, not a thinker, someone who'll act and not think
    about the consequences"

At the conclusion of the scene, he, Moe, Barney, Apu, Chief Wiggum and
the Sea Captain form a vigilante group...

They were probably being PC and not wanting to offend the Mexicans.

  9. It would be nice, wouldn't it? The last stations built here in Victoria
were all based on German technology. About the only home grown bits
would be the steel that was used to build the boilers and the structures
    to hold them.
Australia has never been a world leader when it comes to manufacturing,
or inventing and exporting technology. And it never will be. Howard's
hero, Bob Menzies put paid to that. After the war he decreed that we can
live off the sheep's back and insisted that all technolgy be imported
from the UK. That we don't need to make anything ourselves.

If we didn't have shitloads of valuable dirt, then we WOULD be a third
world country in its entirety, instead of being one with a first world
    standard of living.

  10. That in itself would earn a PHD candidate a degree if willing to submit
    it as a thesis...

So denial ain't just a river in Egypt now eh?

What with all this revision? Did I accidentally stumble across the
keystone to the whole Iraq-invasion deck-of-cards or something?

What's the big problem with acknowledging the Government's stated reason
for attacking Iraq? If you admit remembering it was WMDs do all the
righties throw you out of the club or something?

    Arrgh!
No John; I don't know much Redgum (apart from the aforementioned "A walk in
    the light green".)
    Thanks for the answer.

  15. Sorry Martin. You are so very wrong (with the inventing technology bit).

The problem is once it has been made a proven, no bugger will back it and it
has to go overseas to make it worthwhile _or_ mainstream.

They did the trebuchet thing some months ago. The dummy suffered some
    serious injuries.
