So we were already a target for terrorists, and to fix that we invaded a
couple of countries, in order to remove the terrorist threat. Cool. So
why are you scared of an imminent terrorist attack in Australia? Surely
the problem couldn't have escalated... we already removed the threat.
If we were enemies with their oppressors, they were already our allies.
They targeted anyone who attempted to defend themselves from the
invading forces, regardless of their gender, age, or occupation.

I don't expect that to happen... what I expect to happen is that workers
who are already working for 'bad bosses' will be further marginalised
and have what little 'conditions' they have eroded.

This will tend to effect most unskilled workers and people working part
time in marginal mom and pop business's.

...and how real was the threat if after that time the police still
    couldn't identify the target.

    Hammo is a Volvo driver...
motorcyclists who are scared of Volvo drivers aren't motorcyclists Tim [1]

Your only problem here Smee, is that he hasn't actually set any
benchmark for measurement. In 18 months time you can argue till you're
blue in the face over what he meant by "substantial" and "living
standards" and he will always be able to choose some different
measurement to demonstrate why he is right.

Also the main IR threat isn't to the quantity of employment but to the
quality of employment. You can sack 1000 full time workers and employ
2000 casual workers to replace them and the statistics will show that
    unemployment has decreased.

If you're a full-time award-rate employee of my company I believe that you
are on full pay and your jury stipend is paid to the firm. (But I've never
    put that to the test).
If you're a contractor that may be entirely different.

Yeah; it's gotta' swing back to normalcy as all of the arch-conservatives
    die-off from arse-cancer....
(Let's face it; it CAN'T be healthy to have it that clenched-shut for that
    long)

I could handle living in UnZud... since I'd have to sell up before
shifting the broke bit wouldn't matter... I'd be retired, living on
    superannuation and investments.

Hopefully Oz will come to it's senses before then and I won't have to
    though...
