Hi all, geez it's been ages. BT is settling in unsteadily but
determined to make an effort to enjoy this place. The drop on Saturday
morning was spooky mostly because it was on the first day of our new
real lives which is probably supposed to mean something *important*.

When we've dealt with the knee-deep weeds in the courtyard we'll have a
    housewarming bash; more info TBA.

Hey one of my 949 unread emails upon returning to work yesterday is
from a MRA geek friend (courtesy of Damien C) regarding a protest ride
they're planning for mid-March (yes that's five months notice). They
want to disrupt the Commonwealth games to get international exposure
onto the $50 MC rego issue. Okay, I can think of a few dozen things I
care about more than paying $50 more a year on MC rego, and I'd be
inclined to want to give them international exposure instead. Has the
MRAV just announced its total irrelevance?

    Hopefully not.

Damien Codognotto is the driving force behind a petition to have the $50
TAC levy rescinded. It's not an MRA initiative.

It's total lack of imagination and understanding for sure.

NO link between the items, no other lobbying planned...

Information has been received that the MRA are not organising this
event, just the guy who signed off on the email as a lifetime MRA
member and which I like a fool interpreted as somebody who speaks for
the MRA, and another guy. Nothing to do with the MRA, I've been told.
I shall therefore demote my newfound contempt for the MRA to
indifference, as long as they don't finally give in and start
advertising it on their website or encouraging people to go along in
any way. I could tell you why, but nobody really cares.

That said I retain my right to despise any group I please at any whim
that occurs to me, and if a few whiny petrolheads can't take it I'll
have to resume my campaign against artificial sweeteners (they cause
    more cancer than wonderbras).

Yeeeeees, he does that just to annoy the MRA. MRAA. MRAV. MRAx.
    Whatever.
    Awwww, isn't that sweet?

The MRA claim they speak for all motorcyclists, it is poetic justice that
Damian Wheelbarrow claims to speak for them, and they are both liars.

It's an issue that the MRA is concerned about. This fellow is actively
lobbying on bike issues, but people are mistaking his efforts as being
    MRA sanctioned.
Why not enlighten us? Everyone's opinion is as legitimate as the next
person's. If you have a concern about this, why not let the MRA know.
Given that you appear to be a new Victorian resident, the issues may
    concern you.

Or maybe they don't. I dunno.

What is it about her appearance that leads you to that conclusion.
I saw Minx the other night and I didn't notice any obvious signs.

I read your letter in the mra foorums
    Minx was "TOLD" was she?
nice choice of words there Martin
Did you send hired goons around to "TELL" her?
    *shakes head*

I assume that she must have been, given her followup on this issue here.
Which words? You're not making yourself very clear.
I posted a note in the MRA forum to highlight an issue that's been of a
concern to the MRA, that DC represents it as a public figure, whereas he
doesn't. Minx obviously thought so, hence my first response to your
initial letter in here advising that Codognotto is running with this
    petition by himself.

Obviously someone must have read that note and contacted her directly.
That had nothing to do with me. Nor was it my intention that she have
    the "goons" sent around.

As usual, you're trying to make something where there isn't anything. Or
are you simply shit stirring 'cos you're bored.
You shouldn't do that. You might rattle something loose, if it isn't
    already.

With the risk of being baited, why do you think that it's a foolish idea
to petition against the TAC levy?

I personally don't really care one way or the other, except that the
list of works that's been done to date using this money has questionable
motorcycling benefits, particularly when a lot of it has gone into
funding the sealing of private driveway entrances (on roads where gravel
is spat onto the road). The owners of said driveways should be sent the
    bill for that work.

when someone is "told" it implies they were intimidated.

So why did you wirte she was "Told"

Nope I am pointing out what you wrote and how you wrote it.
You wrote she was "told" hence the implication was intimidation or told off.

Everything is fine in the real world Martin. I don't live in a hole in
    the ground like you gippslanders.

    hehehe
Considering my sister also lives near the edge of gippsland but in some
of the greatest motorcycling country she has some interesting stories to
tell of the troglodytes that infest the nether regions of gippsland.
Must be all that brown coal smoke they breathe in.

  20. Depends. Are we talking the effects of invert sugars, the decomposition of
phenylalanine's or the well documented fibrotic injuries caused by bras?
