Mmmmm...., very very nice. Are you doing the suzuki owners manual
running in or the "motortune" as recomended by the demented merkins on
    gixxer.com?

I think it goes along the lines of "bounce it off the limiter from
mile 1 but change the oil every third mile, forever". Or something.

    Enjoy :)

Nice, I like the way the white and blue make the seat unit look less
    odd.

Nice, is the rear seat cowl thingy supplied with the bike? (Was with a 600)

I clicked mine over 900 miles on the way back from work today.

Been far too gentle with it so far I think. Todays the first time I've
scared myself shitless on it though. Wet on the way in and the thing
span the rear up in top with mild twistage from 6k..

The kwak never used to do that. Oooh err ...

It was and I even remembered to take a rucksack with me to put the
seat in. Pity I'd forgot to take the huge FOAD chain out of the rear
of the R1 so that had to go in the rucksack too.

There are so many different opinions on running in. There's no way I
could exercise the self control required to stick to Suzuki's
recommendation of below 5.5k for 1000 miles so I'm not even going to
    try )

Feels totally different yet strangely the same as my K2. Suzuki
really do know how to make a bike "feel" right IMHO. Still the same
shite finish though! The paint on the tank has marked after just a 20
mile ride home FFS. I'll be getting a baglux for it I think.

Whoa! A vinyl roof on a sportsbike. Watch you don't upset the style
    police now.

Conveniently, the gearing on the Mille means that the running-in threshold in
top is reached at 110mph. Hopefully have the requisite distance over with
    this weekend
IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT'S HOLY, NOOO!!

You brought another one then? Feel free to point impatiently at the
    thread marked Simon's new bike.

A fair point but AFAIK the only alternative is lots of tacky little
    protector stickers all over it.

Well, to be fair, it wouldn't be surprising if sk was still running in
    his first mille ;-)

Yep, picked it up a couple of weeks ago, though running in has been hampered
somewhat by flat renovation and a sodding puncture. A belated mini-review
and photos will follow shortly, in the meantime I've added an "r" to my sig!

    It's ver ver nice though
To be fair, my tank's scuffing a bit, but given that it's black I might get
away with some clear protector stickers

I certainly liked it on my ZZR600. When I came to part the bike for the
Blackbird, I weaseled an extra ton from the dealer once he saw the
paintwork, as he was expecting it to be shit. I kept the cover and flogged
it on fleabay, which paid for a cover for the Blackbird. Sorted!

I'd hazard that the bagluxisti are the minority, albeit a vocal one.

    Champ says...
I've got 2 Baglux covers sitting in the garage, and I sold one a little
while ago to another ukrmer. I also have 2 almost new Alpha tankbags
sitting on top of the wardrobe, of which one will soon be sold.

I don't leave them on the bike because I like the look of cared for
paintwork. I'll fit the cover only when I need to use the tankbag.

I've got one on the Blackbird, so they're no longer fashionable.
