no pictures of my power point this time, thats next.

im thinking about whacking a ciggie socket on me cbr600f4i

I figured I can take the seat off, and wire in some kinda lomb.

using a decent size wiring, a fusible link, directly linked to the battery.

to a plug in the boot were I can attach something like a ciggie socket or a
type of connector vibration resistant, so it wont fall out when riding.

Ive seen kits on ebay that look nice with spring cord and stuff, they be
better than making one ya self?

anybody got any tips on how toos and how not toos?

go to www.jaycar.com.au and hit cig into the search

you can get fused sockets complete with lead for under $10
just wire direct to the battery and you are set

  3. and just make sure you know the power draw of whatever you plan on plugging
into it ... check out some forums on current draw on the CBR's just in case
you end up burning out electrics... although I'd heard of riders using
GPS,CB,Radar detectors etc without mods... doesnt mean it isnt going to give
    them trouble tho..

The BMW style sockets connect much more positively.
    About $15 from SupaCheapAuto

A fuse is a good idea too.
Use the blade type (not glass)

I use a DC socket similar to the one you see on plugpacks for things
    like MP3players.

That's connected via a fuse to the battery. I use that because it's
    physically very small.

I then have a cigarette lighter socket bought from SuperCheap that plugs
    into that socket.

INto that I plug things that are supposed to plug into car sig sockets,
so I have a car cig lighter connection for the ipod, for the PDA, for
    the phone.

For some things, I remove the cig lighter plug, and substitute a plug
that goes directly to the DC socket - much less bulky that way.

I have also modifed my Jatcar wallplug battery charger. I removed the
battery clips, and sustituted the mate for the DC socket, and connected
another DC socket to the clips. So if I want to charge the Guzzi I
plug the wallwart straight into the bike, if I want to charge another
bike I connect the clips to the wallwart and use those.

Whether you go for a small socket like I have, or a cig lighter one,
plug into it things designed to be run off vehicle power, and it should
    all just work.

  17. I'll jump onto the CBR forums on Monday, dig up a few pointers... if you
can't wait then google them (like I will) and have a look-see.

All I remember is some talking about very specific current draws for items,
they use some simple math to add up what the R/R is capable of and subtract
the max draw from the specs of whatever they plug into it... but I'd say if
you're not going crazy (aka fanatical guys I've heard of in the states who
plug everything in) then things shouldnt be too scary... but its just
something to be aware of (that a bike charging system will deliver X amps
and you can only draw that much)

nar, im no yank, 1 decive at a time..

if i put thick enough wires from the battery through a spade 15a spade fuse,
into a good size plug, that i can plug an extention lead into with a cigi
socket or what ever. only used 1 device at a time, biggest would probably be
    a portable battery.

id also like the option of jump starting/charging through this socket too,
    incase of emergency.
