    That's the 512Meg is it?
True... however, I find AAAs really hard to find, AAs being far easier (my
digicam uses them) - still one can lob a pack in one's stash bag...

Pretty good fit, little interference from the helmet but they don't
really work that well as ear plugs.

Very comfortable, just like a set of earplugs IME
Lots. Especially if you turn the volume up.

    They really are great earphones.

    I've got the 1GB one.

At approx 10-12 hours per battery, batteries are cheap even if you don't go
    the recharge route.

Whilst that's an accurate statement, I've been out mountain biking with my
mini hard disc job (Creative Zen Micro), and not had a single skip with
    it.

While what you say is true, I'd bet a solid state player would win in
the event of an unwanted bath.

    Good point, well made.

How many baths have you had whilst on a motorbike?

One, and I ended up spark out in a ditch for 40 minutes, with my bike
rubber side up in the same ditch.

Can you switch the phone bit off while you're listening to the mp3s?

Should you get your phone nicked by said scum, you'll also loose your
    mp3 player.
That's always an area manufacturers can claw back a few pennies. All I
want is a small phone, that's not too small to use, no camera, a screen
you can see in sun light, and a simple UI. My T39m fits the bill
wonderfully, but is not made any more, and there's nothing like it on
the market now from what I can gather.
Isn't that what bling muggers do these days? Look for the white
    headphones. :)
I think mobile phone makers are focusing too much on maximum features
and functions the phone has[1], rather on something that's actually very
good at doing a small number of things.

[1] In other words, doing a lot of things not really well.

Where as two of my mobile phones survived a washing machine cycle and a
    pond swim.

These acronyms, I'll have to Google for the meaning, then enter that
    into my acronym database. Hmm..

Ah, I was just about to ask you about that; I thought that if anyone
    here knew, you would.

I've thought about getting an adaptor so I can use my Fontopias. Of
course, they don't have a microphone, but I don't get called that often
when I'm listening to MP3s that it'd really be a problem.

  15. True; if you're getting washed out to sea in a flash flood, it's nice to
    have some music.

    Eh? But the C500 is just a bog-standard-ish 2.5mm three-way socket,
isn't it? If I get a stereo 2.5mm plug to 3.5mm adaptor, I should be
able to plug my earphones into that, shouldn't I?

Or am I missing something incredibly obvious?

As a result of this thread I've dug them out and yes they're a bit crap
but we shall se how we get on.

As an aside where's the cheapest place to get the Mini SD cards and
what's the maximum size the C500 can take? I'm still on the one that
    came free with it.

Ah, of course, the button! Forgot about that.
Well, ummm... if I could remember where I've put the damn thing, I could
probably work it out given a couple of minutes with a multimeter. Then,
if I can remember where I've put my soldering iron, I could make up my
own adaptor that earths the microphone connection and leaves the button
    connection floating...

Or am I missing something incredibly obvious, *again*?
