My bike is will be three years old on Thursday so due it's first MOT.

Am I right in thinking it doesn't matter when I get this done, I just
can't use it on the road until it's done? Needs a new rear tyre to
pass and the bank account won't stretch to one this month.

Cool, having the bike off the road for the next three weeks won't be
too much hassle and it'll save me going overdrawn.

  4. Where will you be using out of interest? I've had my last couple done at
Sheldon M/Cs and they've been fine.

BTW, seen the new Honda bike dealer opening on Stratford Rd?

  6. Sherwoods is *tiny*, they don't even do MOTs.

The new dealer is part of the Avondale Honda car dealer that just opened
near Sytners BMW, just about opposite where the Shirley UCI used to be
(which is going to be another car dealer, oh and there's another car
dealer getting planning permission near the big Tesco, we're turning
    into one giant car warehouse).

I had one done at Sheldon years ago but then started using Streetbike
and having it done when the bike was serviced.

Thing is, Skellerns and MSC Honda are within 5 minutes walk of my
office in Worcester so I'll probably have one of them do it while I'm
    at work.
Yeah, looks pretty fancy. There's the new Triumph dealer by the
airport as well. Although they've definitly got wank radio ads...

"Buy a new Speed Triple from Solihull Triumph and be the dude you
always wanted to be on the weekend".

Sherwoods is shutting down I believe. They've lost the Honda
dealership to that new Avonvale one in Shirley.

Actually it's Sytners BMW who want to build on the Dave and
Busters/UCI site. They're a bit embarrased by the Honda dealership
    apparently.

  14. Ha, I think I went past that the other week, is that the car dealership
with a few Triumphs on the forecourt? I thought it looked a bit of a
lame add on, although I was driving, so didn't get a great look.

That's the one. I went in there the other week to have a look at the
new Triple. There were five salesmen in a showroom no more than 20ft
    sq!

Where on the Stratford Road is this new Honda dealership?

  16. Hmm, will give that a miss then.
    heh

While we're on the subject, is Coleshill BikeWorld a decent place to get
leather jackets or can anybody local to Solihull recommend anywhere
    else?

I bought some gloves from there about a year ago. Dunno if the price
was decent or not, it was a case of putting my hand through the palm
of mine on the ride home from work and needing some. Very good range
    of stuff in there though.

There is also J&S on the Cov Road into Birmingham and Hein Gericke in
    the city.

  20. I can vouch for Bikers World.. they're my local shop. They've got a
reasonable amount of lower end stuff if you're not looking to spend lots.

If you're local and can make do until the next bike show
(http://www.motorcycleshow.co.uk/) I found there be quite a good
selection there. In fact as I recall the market place was pretty much
the same size as the show. There is a student discount if you're NUS.

    <disclaimer>
I've only been to a few other bike shops but biker's world was the best
I've seen, apart from the NEC motorcycle show.
