I was chatting with one of my French counterparts the other day about my
impending purchase of a thou. He reckoned everyone he knows has a
    derestricted bike and doesn't care.

  3. Wait until they're nicked. I wouldn't trust any Frog with a full power
bike: Des managed to bin his restricted FJR twice.

But then he isn't a Frog, so I dunno really.

Was the iR1 restricted or full-power?

My admittedly not huge experience tallies, FWIW. Two girlfriends who
rode horses, both with bad backs (one actually broken apparently)
through falling off. When I was taking riding lessons as a teenager,
one lad was thrown and broke his wrist. Plus occasional minor injuries
from being kicked, barged, or simply trodden on.

I've seen two serious parachute injuries in probably over forty
visits to a busy DZ as a student and as a qualified cat-8 parachutist:
one bloke who misjudged a hook turn by a few feet (I actually heard
the bone crack as he slid on the ground) and one student who was
recovered to the airfield, obviously in a lot of pain after landing
badly, though I don't know the details of what happened.

i had some very noisy pipes on the falco on a trip to corsica, so much so
that even the ordinarily unflappable corsican ferry workers were looking
a bit hot and bothered about the volume below decks.

during that trip we came over the crest of a hill into a police speed trap
(within the limit, the roads were a nightmare). the corsican policeman
stuck his fingers in his ears, gave a big grin, and made enthusiastic
    thumbs-up signals.
