  3. I'm sorry but I don't agree. It's a vision, a desire, and whether it
can be achieved or not is irrelevant. What it means in practice is
that road traffic infrastructure, systems and vehicles should be
designed as far as possible with that goal in mind.

On one here seriously believes there will ever be zero fatals, but by
setting high standards, it will hopefully lead to a steady reduction
    in the number of deaths.

The simple answer to your problem is that you need Moi as your benign

  7. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Lozzo
Oh I don't know. A mate and I got in one in San Diego once, at Seaport
VIllage. He's of a similar size to me, and we had to sort of scooch the
wheels along to get the thing moving.

But the girl who was providing the power managed after that. We just sat
and enjoyed the (lycra clad) scenery. Very nice it was too.

    Ok.
Not read the full list of replies to this post,
    But
I wonder how do the "Rickshaw" style units in London get away with it then?
Still only 2 wheels, offering a "Taxi" style service.
Ok...No engine.....I'll grant you that, bit how does that make them any
    safer?

  9. Heh, at the risk of doing a Des, this is the Swedish version of the

i Sverige. Alla som utformar, planerar och använder vägarna har ansvar
    för att visionen förverkligas."

    The gist of that is:

"How many people do you think should be killed on our roads? You've
probably answered none to that question and that's the philosophy
    behind zero vision

Of course its impossible to prevent accidents, because people do make
mistakes. Zero vision is about reducing the risk of serious injury or
death as a result of accidents. This is the basis of all traffic
safety work in Sweden. All those working with the design, planning
and construction of our roads must have this vision in mind"

Now IMHO that is a better translation into English than that published
on the homepage. Arrogant, me? No.

Now as far as automatic speed control in cars is concerned you are
referring to a technology called ISA (Intelligent Speed Adaptation).
There are in fact four countries leading the way who've been in the
game since the beginning: Sweden, Belgium, Holland and you've guessed
    it the UK.

I still maintain that it's an ideal target with the acceptance that it
will never be fully realised. Nevertheless its still a worthwhile
goal. I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

Apologies for the long and no doubt utterly dull post. I did try and
    avoid doing a Des honest.

  14. The only thing about Graham (apart from the pay) was the way he gave the

I know this because she looked right up and at me when I said I had to

  17. I know its fitted to my Pan! It's an advisory system using an Ipaq
connected to a gps to provide road speed and speed limit information.
I get warning sounds through my autocom and a flashing display on the
Ipaq when I exceed the speed limit.

Currently in Sweden there are no moves to introduce or even develop an
active system for bikes. Most of that work is being done at MIRA in
    the UK.
    Indeed.

Alas I fear my insanity levels have not reached the dizzy heights
required for the position. Plus I'd need to post a lot more
untranslated Swedish text to even get on the short list.

Now you're talking bollox. I used to work for CS and they were shiter
than a shitty thing touched by a shitty stick. Thieving, back stabbing,
lying, twisted fucking wankers. And I'm being polite in my description.
They owed me over £400, when I left them.

I'm just fucking glad I returned a K75 with a dented fucking wheel and
other possible probs with the front end, after T-boning a car that was
cutting through the traffic (slow speed T-bone). The only down side is,
that those wankers would have probably given the bike to some other
    poor sucker.

Worst company in the world to work for, IMO. AL doesn't come any where
    close.

what, they tried to ban them and the rickshaw drivers defeated the ban,
or they banned them, and the rickshaw drivers were defeated in their
    attempt to overthrow the ban?

I'm guessing you're suggesting the former, as the fucking things are
    still around.
