    Why, hello there!

Are any of you fine fellows able to recommend a school in or around
Reading, preferably on the eastern side?

    Thank you and God bless,

Can't recommend (last time I had training it was with CSM in Tunbridge
Wells, almost 13 years ago), on the A4 between Maidenhead and Taplow.

    Pointless plug follows.

    I can recommend

Top blokes and I've never had a chance to thank them, so putting a
highly irrelevant plug in here for anyone south of Auckland or touring
NZ in Raglan or Hamilton. They do a couple of BMW 1200GS, the owners
own K1200S? sport something (and it's now a 650 GS Dakar instead of
the Honda Transalp as a German guy wrecked it) , all under a year or so
old. Divide by 3 for the GBP.

    TopBanana coughed up:
Not really anywhere near Reading, but ABC Riding School in Aylesbury
    did the job for me.

Bit of a long slog from Reading though.

It's tempting to try to help after such a polite request. However...
....this bit just makes me hate you.

If it makes any difference at all, I was taking the piss. So if you
do know of any good schools in or around the aforementioned locality
(or at the very least in the same continent; rob2 my prayers are with
you) I'd be very keen to hear about them.

Not used them myself as I passed my test long before this modern
training stuff, but Abbey Rider Training in Blunsden near Swindon are
supposed to be good. Fair old trek from Reading though.

Whenever I've seen the Lightning bods out and about with their
students, they look competent and careful.

I was with CSM in Reading, now, thankfully, no more.

I paid about £600 which covered everything from doing my CBT to
passing my test. They included everything from use of helmet,
armoured gloves, textile Akito jacket, waterproof leggings. The only
thing I was directed to bring with me was my Theory Test pass
certificate, licence, sterdy boots (DM's) and sensible trousers
    (jeans).

That also covered unlimited training and re-tests until I passed. Did
it in a week from start to finish.
