I think the Americanism is showing - the GSX750F is what I would
suggest as a better selection for that characteristic set.

(it's funny, I think the thing has been pretty accurate, with the
exception of PH Pete as a squid (was expecting him to get R1 or Gixxer
Thou going by the way he treats that trike, and Crazy Cam ;-)

You have the characteristics of a master street rider. On the way to
work, your love for riding sometimes leads you to take the long way. The
50-miles-of-back-roads long way. You live for the perfect road, and plan
    vacations around riding.

You need a bike that can handle your addiction to the twisties as well
as comfortably carry two on a weekend trip through the mountains. Your
bike is the FJR1300. Can I borrow it someday?

I't be on the list if I was shopping for a new bike.

    Honda Hawk

You scored -5 moxie, 3 zeal, and -2 pomp!

Your interest in riding a motorcycle is purely practical - its cheap, easy
to get through the city, and you can park anywhere. You are unlikely to ever
ride anywhere except between home and work or school. In order to maximize
the practicality of riding, you read the magazine reviews and choose a bland
yet utterly reliable Honda, a sensible motorcycle for sensible people.

Has someone got one so I can see if that is what I want?

Sorry, If you don't know the answers, you don't *really* want one...
    Enjoy the sporty.

  8. Yeah, but it'll never get reasonable fuel range afterwards...

big (its shaft drive, but has no bungee hooks near the rear seat...)

Not sold here but very similar to the Deauville (same engine) and Hornet
(similar styling), never ridden one so can't comment on whether it rides
    like them

    Thanks John

Saw the same page whilst searching after I did the test. Didn't think I had
seen them here and wasn't sure what the equvalent was. Looking to buy a
bike soon but not sure what. Returning to riding after many years away from
    them.

Plausible. Or maybe I just don't know you very well from what you post
on line. Or maybe you answered the questions differently to how you
really feel. Or maybe it just got you wrong...

It's amusing, and my expectation of it being utterly inaccurate doesn't
seem to be the case, which is a surprise.

Without any info on what sort of riding you had in mind I'd suggest a
Suzuki SV650 - it's very similar to the description of the Honda I just
googled up for you, and it's an excellent bike for people returning
after a bit of a layoff - plenty of HP to do most anything on, comfy
ergonomics so you can ride it a distance as well as punt it around town,
excellent motor, reasonably inexpensive to buy and very forgiving to ride.

Also consider Bandit 650, Hornet 600, TDM900, Bonneville, mid sized
    cruisers.

And if you want a cheaper downmarket version, buy the Hyosung, which is
    a Korean copy.

    John

Figure something in this size will suit me hopefully. Not interested in out
and out power but would like something that isn't going to strain on hills
and be nice and stable on the highways. Not a daily ride but more for
weekend recreation. Will be looking shortly and if all goes well will be
    back in the saddle shortly.

    Thanks Howard.
