Anyone listening to the radio hear any news about this? Someone's just
phoned to say the traffic around the NEC is a nightmare (worse than
normal). There's a big plume of black smoke visible here from that
    general direction.

    Bummer!

Just watched it on TV. They reckon they've saved about 400 bikes :eek:/

I must agree - but at least get the bikes out first ;-)

By the look of the place, they haven't invested in anything over the last 15
    years or so.
They have made no effort at all to display and arrange the bikes in any
    particular order, it's
more like a glorified garage than a museum. The "new" exhibits they had
    were just placed behind
existing bikes with no apparent order.
It seems the place ran more as a venue for weekend markets and the odd
    computer fair rather than
a museum dedicated to motorcycles. Still a bloody shame it's gone up in
    smoke though.

Drove back home passing within a mile or so of there, heavy smoke with a
kind of eerie orange glow about it and the smell of burning rubber in
    the air.

Yeah, I saw it going home last night as I come off the M42 at the A45
    junction where the museum is.

I wish I hadn't put off going there for so long now.

And all that leaking oil must have fanned the flames.
