I had rather Ride in the Cold, any old day than in tha heat. I enjoy
putting on the Leather and the Do/Rags, and stuff.
To me. it's a lot eazier, to stay warm, than to try to be cool in
    90*/100* summertime.
My wife and I like strapping on the Leather, time...like the old
cowboys, getting ready to mount up and Ride the trails.... What's neat
to me, is, you never know who's under that Helmet and that goodlooking
Motorcyle attire. If ya think about it, all sports require certain
Gear...to look the part and be part of it!
My wife And I, Geared up, n a December Sunday 03, to Ride the
Toy-for-Tots here in NE Texas, and it was 34* that mornijng about 9am.
    Didn't bother us.

    Hey Bjay -

I rode that event as well. It was a bit nippy that day,
mostly it was the wind. Most people are surprised to find that you
can actually stay cooler by having some gear on. You have to have
gear that blocks the sun, but vents the air. You will also be doing
your skin some good as prolonged exposure can cause all kind of little
    nasty's to appear later on.

A good day to me is in the high 60's to low 70's. You can
wear your gear without having to bundle (restrictive) or suffer from
    the heat.

It might just be good weather by the time I can ride again.

I'm also more of a textiles person myself. Both of my jackets are
ballistic nylon with armor. One is a mesh, the other is more solid
(hot and cold respectively). Leather gloves with armor in the
knuckles, helmet (full face) and Sidi riding boots.

I, too, wear jeans....but only because I haven't been able to get a
pair of riding pants to fit me correctly. I'm about to buy a pair and
have them altered so that I can wear them. Fieldsheer (sp?) makes a
great pair that is mesh to keep you cool, but armored and leathered
where you need it in case of a crash.
