Lately I noticed how some of the newer motorcycle engines are treated with a special surface coating. I cannot figure out whether it's a paint or some sort of anodization. Maybe plasma or some other kind of electrochemical process. Anyhow the surface is NOT smooth, and usually it is grey or black. Here you can see some pictures of what I mean: http://www.amadirectlink.com/news/2005/06Ninja650/engine.jpg http://www.treswright.vervehosting.com/Misc/Ninja/ninja-motor.JPG http://www.motos-knuesel.ch/images/fz1fazer_2006/FZ1_006a.jpg http://www.factorypro.com/images/covers/cover_Y77,rh.jpg http://users.adelphia.net/~ashleighk14/R1/P2250005.jpg http://www.2tmoto.com/prodimages/productos/swmotech/HONDA/CB600HORNET/protectromotors.jpg Can anyone tell me what was done to those engines? What product/process was used? Regards, L. Jensen
