Suzi and Kawa are testing at the Island today. Does anyone know if they will
continue to test tomorrow the 25/02? Is there a testing calendar?

    Cheers,

    Yeah testing until the 25th.

Will they let you in? Kawasaki Press said "yes, but Suzuki are running
it so ask them". Suzuki said "**** off".

    YMMV ;-)

I went and saw Yamaha, Proton, Ducati etc on Thursday. You can't get in but
you can quite comfortably stand and look through the cyclone fencing and
watch the action from only about 20 mtrs away at the final left hander
coming onto the main straight. You can also get a good view from the road
that heads down toward the beach. They have put some black screen mesh type
of stuff on the fence here. The trick is to put a chair on top of your 4WD
and see clear over the fence. You can also pay to go into see historical
visitors centre thingo but from what I heard it's cheaper (free) to stand by
the fence and you get a better view. Most people seemed very friendly and
cluey. I was standing next to one bloke who could pick the riders from the
colours of their helmets. There were probably about 60 people there, most
driving cars. The bikes sound awesome.

You can stand there and freeze for hours, and see a bike ever once in
a while, or watch paint dry at home...

Na, I disagree on both counts.

    1. On Thursday with four teams testing there was a bike out on the circuit
most of the time. The best time was the last hr 4:00-5:00 pm when nearly all
the bikes were out on the track at the same time. Though I expect it will be
quieter with only two teams testing at the moment.

with light to moderate southeasterly wind tending more southerly in the
    afternoon. Min 15 Max 26
I do to remember Barry's famous introduction to Phillip Island as "the
gateway to hyperthermia", but if you go tomorrow you might want to consider
bringing a hat. I got burnt to the shitouse on Thursday. :)

  6. Hear on ABC New Radio this morning a story about Linfox taking over
Phillip Island and some old bat whingeing about the bike testing and
wanting Linfox to reduce the amount of use of the track. "Might have
only been one bike and I'm two miles from the track but is sounded
like it was in my living room". Fark! How long has the track been
    there?

Why doesn't she move to Tullamarine next to the airport and then
complain about the noise from the jets.

    Grrrr

  7. Somehow I can't see Linfox reducing the amount of track use. Use generates
money. It's only going to go in one direction.

  8. Especially for things like bikes which don't do anywhere near as much
surface damage as the heavier and more powerful vehicles.

Besides, I think Mr Fox is a bit of a petrol head. If I recall correctly, he
    owns a huge auto collection.
