The latter I would agree with.

Except for those sensible souls who use it to test race set up and don't
worry so much about grid position.

 

that's just Colin Edwards showing that *he* can ride a substandard bike
and get it up the rankings. As he's leaving the team he's got nothing to
lose.

Who knows? it'll be a different bike anyway - as in further developed
from this season's bike.
