I'll escalate this issue to Simes, if I may.

Damn, I meant to record that.

I bet Rossi has paid back the initial investment in him already.

Rossi's certainly doing wonders, but Gibernau still leads the
series. Of course, Rossi's won some races which he wasn't supposed
to, so he's probably favourite for the championship.

The surprising thing now is how well the other Yamahas are doing. I don't
know whether this is due to Rossi's development work, or just that he's
shown that the bike is competitive so they've all bucked their ideas up.

Why on earth are you still using IPX?

I'm pretty sure there's an EU directive on it, but because of the
corruption in Brussels the jackbooted pen pushers haven't enforced it.

I'd figured that part, just not why you aren't running NWIP on them.

I used to quite like Netware, back in the old days. It's what I started
    out working on.
And now can see it's probably not worth the effort to change setups
twice. I did much the same thing for a customer a couple of years back
(Novell -> W2K and Exchange 5.5) trecking round Europe country by
country, I don't think it'd have been as much fun without the travel..
    :)

Still must be a bit embarressing for Honda considering Gibernau and Biaggi

    Probably a bit of both.

Surely it's "line side equipment failure"

Or a new one last week.. "unauthorised use of the track"... WTF? :)

  14. We will be using it for the next 6 months at most. When I joined they
had a network that hadn't been touched for 5 years or more and was
broken. They had about 15 servers, all old shite running Netware 4.11
and Groupwise for email. We are in the process of replacing all the
servers, and transferring everyone (4000 people) to NHS mail (or
Exchange for some) from the old system. It just takes a bit of time.

Until we get shot of the Old Novell stuff we need IPX.
    [/QUOTE]

Hmmm NHS mail - haven't you just outsourced a deal like that to some big
    American firm?

fx: looks at deadlines and hides under desk
