See, I didn't bother to find out what sort of racing as soon as I
realised that your end had cocked up on the track booking.

Very short-sighted, I know. I'll tell them to be more careful next
year, and check the other fixtures first.

It's like TOG and lozzo and the dates for the EOSM/French Run.

I'd love to but there's no way I'll be able to come up with 500 notes
for flights this side of Christmas. Next year def.

well, to quote the old pissy bloke, "my pot is half full". I've been
promoted, but only been given a 10% payrise rather than the 20% I asked
    for.

Still, as I was fairly convinced they were going to offer 0%, it's a
    reasonable compromise.

In general though, Qatar could definitely be on - I'll have to speak to
    the entertainment committee, obviously.

More immediately, given the fact they've backdated the pay increase a
couple of months, I suspect I'm going to pop to Richer Sounds at
    lunchtime...

Keep me informed - the ****-factor is obviously key to this one ...

    A reasonable compromise, then!
Might want to hold off on booking that flight, though: my employment
situation just got a bit less certain.

Actually, that's a bit self-centred. Go ahead and book flights. I
    might not be there, though.
Well, things are building to a crescendo. I think perhaps I'd be wise
    to have a contingency plan.

it's an LCD telly I'm after.

In any case, I went to the pub to "celebrate" instead.

yeah, and the back-dated increase would easily cover the cost of the
    Qatar trip.
you've got caught knobbing someone's wife?

Aha. Last time I looked there, though, they only seemed to have
    non-HD-ready ones
    Good call.

Pff! I was just about to tell you I was potentially having a stay over in
Dubai on the way to Oz.

Yes. You have a shitty newsreader.

Oh - the content of the URL? One bomb that killed one person four
months ago. Qatar's first terrorist incident. I'd say you're safer
    in Qatar than in London.
