MotoGP FP2 Lap Analysis

    For the record, I've excluded in and out laps and any lap that was
    significantly slower than the average (3-4 seconds off the rider's average
    pace). Despite a 4th row start I'm betting Edwards will be on the box. His
    primary bike engine went sour 1/2 way through QP2 and he was balked by
    Hoffman in the 3rd sector on his flying lap. His first two sector times were
    very close to pole pace, despite being on his backup bike that has the old
    chassis.

  2. Btw, what happend to Rossi? He had his fastest at lap 16 but completed 22 as
    most of the others (or 21), but they of course all have they best times at
    lap 21 or 22.

    In case I didn't make it clear the chart is of the 2nd free practice, not of
    final qualifying. I thought it would make a better comparison of likely race
    times.

    Beyond that, I don't know what Rossi's up to. I haven't seen any of the
    sessions, just the final times.
