Just received motogp 3 for PC from amazon, and it's way better than motogp
    2. For just $20. In fact, it is so beautiful!

I'm just using a basic MS Sidewinder joystick, calibrated in properties.

The graphics are gorgeous, and the bike I chose handles much better, plus
    it's tweakable, of course.

    Highly recommended.

Plus you can take on a grid of tarmac chompers online.

Besides the grand prix circuits, there are a bunch of road coarses for cafe
    racers.

Sounds good. Are the physics as good as it
was on GP500? I tried the MotoGP2 demo and it felt more like
an arcade game instead of a real sim.

I used a MS Sidewinder joystick for GP500 and it worked
    very well.

I've never used GP500. Is it still available?

I quit MotoGP2 early on because of the steering. But the WCM I've started
out on is much better. I picked the WCM with the better steering rating (of
2 WCM's), passing up the Proton. Those are the only ones available at first.
Came in 13th of 20 in my first Rookie race, at Phakisa!

The replay after the race is superb. Great camera placements.

I doubt it is still available. It is very old now. I have downloaded
the MotoGP3 demo and will give it a try. GP500 is worth
it if you can find it and if you can handle the bad (by today
    standards) graphics.

oooh I loved riding Gary Mccoy's Red Bull 500cc stroker and whipping
Rossi and the boys on the 4 strokes. Will have to grab MGP3

    Different options for you.

I definitely recommend getting GP500. Update it to the current season
(MotoGP, 250cc, WSBK, whatever you want) and you have a killer-game,
though you will need a P2P program to get it or try e-bay (I got my copy
at a very good price there).

For MotoGP2 there is a just-released mod that updates it to MotoGP 2005,
much better handling than the original game and even the brand new MotoGP3.

I agree, plenty of life in GP500 yet, with all the latest mods even the
graphics look great, the MotoGP 2005 update is brilliant.

Good stuff at http://www.gp500store.co.uk/modules/news/ you can browse the
site and see what is available for download, the community is helpful when
it comes to using the vast amount of mods, so its worth registering to join
    in the forums.

Soon to be released will be a UK superbike update including bikeset and
tracks, including Knockhill that I've had real track time at, really looking
    forward to that :)

GP500 is still the most realistic simulation of motorcycle racing seen on
the PC so far, though I might check out a demo of MotoGP 3 if one exists?
the earlier versions were just to arcadey to grip my attention for long,
    despite their pretty graphics.

    Cheers.

    It's only $20 US.

I put motogp2 away -- as you say, it just didn't handle well. I couldn't
come to grips with the turns.
motogp3 is much better -- it takes you way into it.
I think you would love the Shires closed country road circuit. After beating
all the AI rookies in 600cc, I now can come in 4th in Pro (there are 2
higher levels still, with Legend the highest), but when I try to beat those
top 3 they lure me into crashing out, sometimes while leading!
I'm using rider Oda with the wheelbase shortened all the way up, powerslide
sensitivity at 0, and the gearing lowered. Even though his braking rating is
lousy, I can outbrake them all in Pro.
During the replay you can focus on any other rider as well as yourself, and
    you can save the replay.
And of course it's multiplayer online, but I couldn't get that to accept my
    registration, for now.

Are they actually to the point where they are modifying/creating the
actual tracks? The last time I checked in over there it was mostly
riders, physics, bikes, billboards, etc, with the tracks remaining as
they were when the game came out.

Yes, you can get add-on tracks now, Laguna Seca and a couple of others are
out, but its the full UK BSB trackset I'm looking forward to.

    Cheers.
