My 5 year old son really wants to try a bit of MX and to be honest so do I.
Is there anywhere in the Herts/Essex area where we can give it a try before
    buying stuff?

Don't be such a fucking pikey, man. Do it properly, ffs: buy
Derbyshire or summat - plenty of grass, mud and hilly bits there.

Cane didn't want the obligatory free hospital meal that often gets
    thrown in.
