Ah, Hamish, you need to sign up for a course in soft computing ...
"expert systems" and "fuzzy sets", specifically.
    With built-in fishtank!

  2. Because I say say? No, Dale, because I ride (and surprise surprise have
toured on said bike) and I don't agree with it. The complaints that others
have, aren't a concern for me. To utilise another posters point, its the
package. I'm not offering to speak on others experiences of the bike and
that in no way should that what I am saying is any less truthful or
    accurate.

Fuel economy got worse when the air filter was clogged, the chain needed
lubing and the bike needed a tune. Maybe that is the too hard for some
    people?

    Welcome to the club.
Well for me, fuel economy/range remains the same after servicing and tune-ups, and that's not just commuting. Also stays the same on
country runs (sitting around 110-ish km/h). Drops quite a bit on fang rides though.

Glib and droll _and_ factual... really :)
No I offered the BMI comment as an option, I stated facts about
    motorcycle catagories.

You still haven't offered a simple one measurment test alternative to
    BMI btw *grin*
It makes it accepted by the majority... majority rules (or had you
    forgotten that :)
You didn't see the prius/smart vs diesel thread then... google it :)

Yes we get that you disagree with the majority of motorctyclists about
    that :)
    Well... Blame Boris... ;-)

You are questioning the accuracy of these bike mags, yet are refusing to
    provide
evidence to support your argument... that rather weakens your argument
to the point of heresay :)

    Yes :)
That translates as I have ridden the bike and I say so...
That translates as I'm ignorning those concerns...
Yup and as a package the VTR1000 is lacking as a tourer compared to
tourers but better than them as a sports bike... coz (all together now)
    it's a sports/tourer (well sort of...)
No, but you are ignoring the majority opinion...
I believe dale's already pointed out that isn't the case...

Earlier you were saying denigration of bikes... we denied that (coz we
    weren't)...
if you are asking if we are now denigrating you then sure... coz you are
resisting the facts in the face of the truth.

Stop doing that and we'll stop stirring you *grin*

  11. What do you, or CASA want? BMI, isn't a single measurement, just thought
    I'd point that out.
You can keep your stinkin' BMI then!
I read most of it. You'll find I start using your arguments soon.

  12. Should I feel bad or uncomfortable about that?
I would, but I don't read the mags.

  13. Hang on. Two different posters have tried this now and both have come to
    different conclusions.

How can my argument be weakened (to the point of hearsay) when it is my
opinion? I don't agree with preset ideals (though Utopia excluded) so I
don't care what popular comment is. It could be cynically suggested that
you have no real ideas yourselves and that like any teenage girl, make sure
you are all in step with fashions. It could be that you (collectively)
aren't confident enough to challenge or disagree with what is presented.

You are free to choose what you want to believe and follow as am I and I am
happy for that to be taken as loosing (sic) a debate. I therefore will need
to mock you for finding any resemblance between debating and the type of
    discussion that goes on here.

  14. To you, as it suits your argument. I have toured on said bike and the
comments raised don't correlate. I'm not the only one. You seem to be
    forgetting this.
I ignore things that are not fair representations, yes.
....yes, but why, cos it doesn't have a shaft and people find stopping for
fuel difficult? Oh, lets not forget the classic fitness line......
I didn't know I had to follow it or that it had any real credence.

I have no idea if dale looks after his bike, he says he does, more hearsay?
