Fair point, you've been watching "the office" again by the sound.
Well, that's part of the reformation isn't it ? Removal of numeracy ?
Besides I didn't say how large a "bit" was :)

Unlike you I wasn't game to look that closely... (there are certain
things zoom tools shouldn't be used for!)

The VTR is probably helped in the sales stakes by it's decent price. Especially when they go through the yearly runout sales.

I find it hard to classify the Storm. It's not really sporty, and it certainly isn't a tourer as such (well with the tiny fuel
    range, touring is limited).

Bloody good fun though, whether fanging it or plodding along. :)))

William always refers to our VTR as the "Thunderstorm".

    Far more appropriate. :)

  9. It isn't? I guess the ZX9 is a sports tourer too. Perhaps if you set the
thing up proper, you'd enjoy it more?

    and it certainly
Ha ha ha ha that is so funny! What distance per tank do you need to qualify
    for a tourer?
Oh, I didn't realise you had moved to Sydney.

    250 to reserve.

Of course you are making some rather large assumptions there.

It's set up very well and I enjoy it immensly. I just don't see it as an out-and-out sports bike, considering I am comparing it to
our other bike and other bikes of the Blades' ilk on the market. Everything's relative.

And it's "Perhaps if you set the thing up *properly*....."

    ;-P
    So is your trolling. ;-)
Since you're curious, to me the bike doesn't feel like a tourer, fuel range aside. However I'd expect my view of a tourer to travel
a good 220-240 kms to reserve at least. And a pre-2001 Storm isn't going to do that.

  12. Well excuse me!

Perhaps you should ride harder then, Mr Bloody Spotty Bum.

Hammo (So the VTR was a tourer, thanx Mr Shark type person)

    Hamish Alker-Jones, Jun 19, 2005
  13. Oh really....?
You are scared to really ride it hard?
No, proper. I can say that, I'm an immigrant.
Is this trolling? If so, you guys who live in cities need to get out more.
    A lot more.
Why is that? What is a tourer supposed to feel like? Boring, staid, slow?
Uncomfortable and unable to do long stretches in all sorts of weather?
Absolute crap. Sounds like you need a tune up, sonny.

    Another assumption.
More assumptions. C'mon Hammo, try harder. :)
Ahh Hammo says it's crap, therefore it must be so. Hah!

    Just because a bike isn't 'sporty' doesn't mean it isn't fun :)
I would say sports/tourers need 200k to reserve, and tourers should have
at least 250k to reserve (preferably 300).

I know you weren't trying to be serious... but you ended up asking
    serious questions!

I think you are hammo :)
Even if he rode it hard it wouldn't be as fast as a sports bike though...

If you aren't trolling then you need to update your bike definitions *grin*
No, it's supposed to feel comfortable and capable of doing several hours
at a stretch without getting off and without taking a break and without
leaving an unfit bugger in pain.

A VTR can't do that for unfit buggers...
Absolute truth... ridden quickish they are dead empty in about 180.

The VTR1000F got 250 to reserve? The VTR250, maybe ...

  18. Not a problem, rode my VTR to Ayers Rock and many other places. Comfort
over a long distance was never a problem. Unlike a certain R1100GS that
    just gave me pain.

Umm, then I sold the VTR to a nurse currently residing somewhere around
Albury. It did have exceptional range for a VTR also.

Of course it was knackered when i sold it though.

  19. Based on what? Or, do you have none and are so saying nothing?
Oh really? You do lots of track days and IK has signed your bike as being
    fully sik?
If I was trolling I would. As I'm not, I'd say, well nothing, what you
    claim is crapo.
Nothing here, Oh, u r the troll?
I have ridden toured, rallied and XXXXX XXXXX my bike. I guess I win, ta
    for that. What a lameo.
