    It's always *your* fault.
Don't you love it when they stop talking to you and you don't know why, and
    they wont tell you.

Most of the emus are on this side of the border. They're getting technology
    now. They play Frogger.

  6. And when you ask what is wrong, the answer is ALWAYS "Nothing".

So one then proceeds on the premises that there is nothing wrong. And
    THEN there's hell to pay.

And you can set it to any speed you like in 5km increments.
Unfortunately you have to pay for the whole Mercedes.

  9. Ooh, that reminds me - Brown Sugar, just off Campell Pde at the north
end where it goes uphill and swings right past the northern entrance (or
    exit?) to the beach carpark...

Try shorter stints.... works for me. I stop every hour for a 2 minute
stretch, and every 5 hours for 30 mins. [1]

    G-S

[1] Means I only average about 100kph, but it means 1500 is only a 15
hour day.... and if you start moving at 6am then you're stopped at 9pm.

I could _not_ do it if it meant riding or driving overnight!

Buses are increasingly different from trucks, and are increasingly
running different motors. For a long time this wasn't the case and
    buses suffered as a result.

Modern bus motors (the better ones anyway) tend to have lower NVH levels
than the truck versions and smoother drive trains.

Also space and mounting requirements in trucks vs buses are very
different. Truck motors have as a primary cooling location a front
mounted radiator. Bus motors are normally rear or less commonly mid
mounted and utilize a side mounted radiator.

This imposes extra cooling requirements since a side mounted radiator is
not exposed to the air flow to the same extent that a front mounted
    truck motor is.

Interstate coaches OTOH tend to use truck motors... as the usage pattern
    and power/torque requirements are similar.

Used to be in Martin Place. IIRC, it was in The Matrix,
the scene where the woman in the red dress walks along the
street and they make a big deal of it or something. Had a
fountain under it. Back then, it was widely known as
    "the shish kebab fountain".

They dug the shish kebab up and moved it to the corner of
Pitt St and something a few years back, across the road
from the back of Australia Square.

A bit of googling turns up that it was built by that Bert
Flugelman bloke that also made the big silver balls in Rundle
Mall in Adelaide ("Bert's Balls" apparently!).

Try as I might, I can't find a decent photo. If you search
for "flugelman" and turn up some of his sculptures, you'll
find some similar stuff. There's a rough flash image in the
wayback machine at http://www.archive.org/ , search for
    "http://www.savetheshishkebab.com/"

  20. I'll have to believe you. I was gonna watch the Matrix, but this flick
about something else came on and the world became dwarf bread.
    Yeah, souvlaki to you too!

It must be a terrible place, this Sydney.
