Now this might be a really dumb question but on last nights
MotoGP there was a sweeping slow left hander where , when the
back end appeared to get a bit squirmy, many of the riders
    waggled their left leg.
Whats that about then? I can't believe it was a panic moment.
Surely they weren't intending to go round speedway style if
    the back started sliding?

Although its been proven that it doesnt help! Although I realise that
the GP guys are riding on prototype machinary on the absolute limit...

Although Casey seemed to find and then go over that limit.

If it makes them more confident, and allows them to go faster, then it
helps, whether it has any physical effect or not.

  5. Think Gobert and McCoy as well.

The style seems to go in and out fashion over time. God knows . . .

OK - maybe "proven" was the wrong word to use.

It was in one of the bike rags, either PB or FB, but not, youll be
    pleased to hear not MCN.

They had 4 or 5 riders of varying abilities trying the method that some
of the GP riders use, and none of them were any quicker and all of them
    said it felt very unnatural.

Admiitadly they were not on 220+BHP GP bikes, however not all the GP
riders use this style, and it doesnt seem to effect laptimes or visible
    corner entry speeds much.

I dont think that all of the top 5 riders, that are usually within a
second or so of each other use this "motocross" entry style.

But hey WTF do I know.

From what I recall, it was a couple of every day riders, a couple of
"fast" group track dayers and a BSB rider (but that might well have
    been A-Force Fagan)
