Would that be because Sir is about as shite as me at it after having it for
around 6 months and *still* not being able to do 2 laps in a row without
    crashing?

Or is it because the sound effects for *some* of the bikes are shite...

GP500 for the PC is still the best bike racing sim IMHO...

So, now everyone's got broadporn connections, shall we try it online?

It'd be a go-er, so long as veggie dave doesn't play as he whupped
everyone's arse last time we played. Mainly because he could actually
"ride" the thing as well as stay on.

Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, WavyDavy
Possibly not from the 6th of September. BT are extending the distance
from the exchange from then, after successful tests.

Oi lives in suburbia and close enough to the exchange but I have a cable
fault that is too expensive to fix.[1]

[1] Although I do wonder how much they have spent dealing with
complaints from shareholders about this in the last couple of years have
cost them compared to pulling in 30 meters of cable through an existing
street duct. There you go, their choice.

Well, I'm installing Doom3 at the moment, so it may not be for a little
    while.

I bought Deus Ex:Invisible War at the weekend... I'm bored with the idea
of "just shoot things" type games.

From the website it looks like it's still just shooting things, but
with more walking around in between.

Just about any FPS style game is, the only difference is how often the
shooting is and what they fill the in-between bits with.

I bought Doom3 about 2 weeks ago. Installed and played it offline once, very
    atmospheric, but not really scary.

Multiplayer however, is shit, and that's what I really buy the games for.
There's a maximum of 4 players per server, and very little teamplay. I played
it for about 2 hours. Value for money? I think not.

RtCWolfenstein and its (free) sibling Enemy Territory still own. 30 v 30
player servers, multiple class choices, a reliance on teamwork, and thriving
clan leagues can (and do) still keep me playing through the night, almost 3
    years after purchase.

That's a blessing. Fired up GP500 for the first time in years last night.
Didn't manage to get round Suzuka once without crashing. Full realism and
    difficulty obviously.

    Best lap: 2.28

    Bugger. I'll keep practising.

In the joyful world of online gaming, if you beat someone, you're a
'fag', if you shoot someone, you're a 'fag', if you get a higher
    score, you're a 'cheating fag'.

    Teenagers, huh? No imagination.

Multiplayer in general has left me a little cold over the past few
weeks, so I bought doom three just for the single player action. More
often than not the servers are full of the kind of player JC so
accurately depicted. You can't create any teamwork with someone who
tells you where to get off every time you ask them anything.
