    This is so true. When my Dear Old Mum shuffled off (Christ! Ten years
    ago now...), I wandered down to my local the next night.

    I bumped into a mate and told him what had happened. We sat and
    reminisced about the feisty old bird and raised a glass or several in
    her memory. Then another of my mates came in, and saw us looking a
    little mournful. She said "**** me! Who's died?"

    Without really thinking, I said "My mum"...

    Her face was a picture, and we spent the next several hours apologising
    to each other, and getting very, very pissed indeed.

  5. I can understand that. My mum had 2 boys. My little brother died ages
    ago. If I were to pop off before my mum, she'd probably die of grief. As
    would, I'm sure, many folk around here ;-)
