Yeah, part of the gang and I rode our last Ride of 0 Five. LB & Wife, Sparky & GalFriend, Skunk & his pooch Lucy, Brad solo, and me (willie) rode NY's Eve (Sat) to almost my favorite area, up around Glenwood Ar. We rode about a 250 mile'r RTrip. My Honey couldnt ride, had stuff to do. That is some perty ****'ry, this time of year. Our ride destination was LB's ole cabin. Brad & I've never been up there. It was quite an Arkansas country setting, guys. I was so impressed. It probably resembles Loretty Lynn's Butcher Holler. LB, said it has been in the family since 1923. It is a Family owned peice of land, with a Perpetual Deed, meaning it cannot ever be sold, has to be passed down. LB said ''I happen to be the president of the Family deal, cause, now I'm the oldest. His cabin was built in 1944, there are about 5 others in that holler, owned by cousins, and what ever he said. Let me clarify, LB is only 57, but still he's the main man of the Family. Back to the Ride with good Buddies. LB rides a special editon 04 Harley Heritage,Sparky a 650 Vstar, Brad a 1300 Shadow, Skunk a 1100 Shadow, and me on my newest ride, the 98V4 Magna. Me and the 1300 did a little bit of ''scooting'' and it took the 1300 a while to get by me. One thang, I shut down at 85-90, I ain't going no faster than 90 in those hills and curves. Of course we found a 1/2 mile straight area, and it don't take the Magna long to do a 1/8 mile or less. Brad said he's buried the needle, before.on that 05 1300! Not me, I like to do my stuff, in a short distance, then I'm thru. <g>. It was fairly cold starting, but warmed up, then got cold again as we rode with determination homeward, to beat sundown, of which gets considerably cooler, this time of year! It was nice weather, for a final 2005 excursion up in the great state of Arkansas, with the goodBuddies. Happy New Year everyone!! (grin)-Bjay 1010am 01.01.06 'Ya'll take care'' --BJAY--
Nice trip report BJay. What a great way to close out 2005. Sounds like you covered some great roads with some good people, what more could a guy ask for? Up here in Michigan, the weather is still 'unrideable'. There's been as much as 14" of snow on the ground with daily highs in the low to mid 20's all month. The last few days have warmed a bit (low 30's), but the cold rain and wet snow have still made it imposible to get the bike out. This has been the first December in the last few years I haven't been able to at least take a short ride. Maybe January will be better. Enjoy the warm weather down there BJay, all of us 'Damn Yankees' are jelous, lol Best regards, and thanks for shareing your ride with all of us, Vic
