Yeah, so it's been a while, but haven't been back in the country that
    long either...

Attended my first GP ever in Japan last month and was most
impressed...not only did the staff help little ole me with my bad
Japanese to get the tickets I had reserved online etc, but even drove
me to the other side of the track to pick them up...

The race was spectacular - atmosphere is everything that's for
sure...sitting amongst a hillside of Japanese supporters while Tamada
passes Rossi is definitely an experience everyone should have :)

And to top it off, my paddock pass ensured that I got to meet the man
I was trekking half way up the country to watch race - Ruben
Xaus...most impressed by his attitude and willingness to stay for
photographs and autographs with me despite his obvious desire to head
back to the pits...now that he hasn't got an official site anymore
with Ducati, I guess here's as good an any place to thank him again :)
I think I managed to get some more motorbike fans too as my female
students on our school trip decided that Xaus was rather hot and
wished I had shown them the pics of him before going to the track, as
they would have come with me...

So I must say, the hospitality of the Japanese staff and spectaculars
was wonderful - I was in a bit of a panic earlier as I was making the
adventure on my own...though a group of Spanish Ducati supporters
adopted me later in the day and took care of me...thanks again :)

Only regret - because of my Japan trip and a Canberra trip the weekend
after arriving home, I couldn't afford a trip to Melbourne for
    tomorrow's GP...maybe next year :)

Highly recommend Motegi though - even if the trip from Utsunomiya to
the track is a bit ordinary in the bus :)
