I need a new exhaust for my VFR750F-T, the choice seems to lie between
a Motad at £585 and a Predator at £513. The price difference isn't
huge so does anyone have any experience of either? I.e. what do they
look like, how easy are they to fit, etc.

The swona web site is still dead, have they gone bust?

My Motad lasted well on my vfr750f-L, had it fitted by dealer, I think
they charged me 2 1/2 or 3 hours to fit it. Sounded OK, but sold the
bike a coupel of years ago, so the memory is fading some what!

    cheers

Motad: All look shite except the Nexxus range. Black chromed downpipes rust
through in 18 months. Most of mine have needed some modification (*big* dents
to allow use of rear brake, longer bracket etc).

Predator: Just received a custom made s/s system, fits well, beautiful
welding, guaranteed forever, looks nice enough, sounds quite throaty. Didn't
think much of their telephone staff.

My mate had a Motad fitted to his VFR and thought it was good value
especially compared to the Honda exhaust. Can't really say more than
that because he sold the bike shortly after, so not much use to you
    really :)

Mind you I had a motad fitted to my old bike which was very well made
and looked as though it would last well.

    A word to the wise.

There are a lot of VFRs around the same age as yours that need new exhaust
    systems.

With a new system fitted your VFR will be a whole lot more attractive to
    bike-thieves.

    As mine was.

In fact the brand new exhaust system was the only good thing worth having
    off my last VFR.

So you might want to be extra vigilant over security etc - especially if
you park it in a public place.
