OK, my son has removed the pipes from the silencer - now has 4 pipes, 4
outlets from the cylinder, 4 inlets into the silencer.

Anyone able to give a clue as to which one goes where?????????

    It's a Motad Neta 4 into 1 pipe for a Yamaha XJ600

Help would be met with a beer poured down the net ......................

Not fitted one but have one fitted to one of my XJ600S Diversions. I
can take a couple of photos of the exhaust if this helps or ask at the
    Divvy Owners Club - http://www.msnusers.com/YamahaDiversions/

  3. We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Peter Jones"

    From memory...

There's an obvious way once you try it - it jumps out at you. iyswim.
Two of them can't fit any other way and are swapped over once you get it
    wrong.

Loosely fit the silencer first and dummy fit the pipes one at a time.

Looks like a few hours in the cold and he's getting there, loose fitting
first at the cylinder seems to be the way forward.

    Thanks

Using my very out of date maths I think there are around 48 different
    combinations?

Not just out-of-date, but wrong as well. 4*3*2*1=24.

Anyway, they'll be slightly different lengths/shapes, so you should be
able to do it by trial and error without having to go through all the
    combinations, I'd have thought.
