    "One careful lady owner".

It is therefore not a Morris stick.

That's Border Morris: an altogether wilder scene. A mate dances Border
and was at Upton last weekend. They allow wimmin, and in his side they
dress in basques and black fishnets, which can be quite eye-popping,
especially if they're doing a fertility dance.

    <checks pix>

    Yeah, like yours!

In fact, that could be Ian's side. Hard to tell with the black face
    paint.

But good old trad stick-bangers and hanky-wavers frown on this "sexual
morrisment" and remain all rufty-tufty lads together.

I'm guessing this is down to 'woman' vs 'lady'.

Pole lathing - WUN and I suspect others
    Archery - Prawn

    Chainsaw sculpture - Beelzebub IIRC
Nice ice cream - Marina, Bear, Blaney and others

  16. It appeared to be an old fashioned wooden lathe which you make move by
pushing with your foot. None of this new fangled electricity stuff. They
were doing demos where you could carve wood on the lathe. As I'm crap
such stuff I didn't try it but a young lady was doing a decent job
    turning and carving some wood.

  19. A fender-esque leccy guitar in that - which implies electrickery &
amplification - which puts it outide the morris exemption for the new

    Beltane Border?
I gave it up after 25 years and saw the error of my ways...
