    It pisses me off, too. In this instance, I think putting in a bid of a
    few thousand quid would be amusing, as he'd have to pay Ebay's final
    value fees on it.

    Doesn't eBay refund the final value fee in the case of a NPB?

    Hmmm. The guy's rather dodgy to start with, you offer him more money than
    what he's already decided to sell it to matey for, what's to stop him from
    biting your hand off, telling matey to FRO and taking your offer? I don't
    see the point of making a bid unless you're *really* sure he can't deliver.

    It's been years since I got my fleabay account, but don't you have to
    supply a CC # that they can charge against? I suppose you can steal
    one of those, too.
