The camera on the Western Ring Rd which famously clocked a diarrhoea-brown

Yeah saw this story on ACA last night. They took the Datto on the racetrack.
Piss funny. Pity they didn't tell us what it got up to.

Cool, I'll print out that story and keep that in my jacket pocket when I'm out
on the ZX12 just in case I need to explain to the plods that a 1200cc vehicle
isn't capable of high speeds :)

    Here's an interesting story.
A few yrs ago, A mate had a stitty blue 120Y, He aslo had a wrecked 180B
SSS stitting around. What alot of people don't know is that in Japan
there was a car of the 120Y body that had the Datsun 1600 L motor in it,
What my mate found out was that the front crossmember of the 180B will bolt
straight into the 120Y, you can then bolt straight in any of the Datsun L
    motors with it's gearbox.
My mate put in the crossmember & a L18 motor with the SSS twin carbs. We
wound it way off the clock numerous times, Gave alot of street racers a big
    surprise!

I had an uncle who put a race-spec Celica motor, box and suspension into an
otherwise very ordinary looking Corolla some years ago for his son's 18th
b'day present. Uncle Ken was a racing driver (and master engineer) and his
    son was not.

The relationship between testosteroned inexperience and race-winning sleeper
was a beautiful thing for a whole day before the lot merged at high speed
with the neighbour's prize Grevillia and front retaining wall, almost with
    fatal consequences.

    Beautiful.

    Cheers,

  9. A cousin of a friend managed to shoehorn a v8 into a 120Y at one stage, had
to move the steering column over to one side a bit to make it fit. Everything
else apart from the engine and box was standard.

    I put a 900cc motor into a 750 fram & raced it for a couple of years!?!?

There is the German bloke who put a 750 Triple into a Gilera 125 Frame.
    http://www.hahne-power.de/english/gil.tunengl.htm

Then there was Rob Phillis who put a GSX1100 motor into a GSXR400 Frame.

    That count

Oooppps! I particularly liked that Paul Harris took the photo!

On a health note, IK, if that is the colour of your diarrhoea, you may need
to lay off the butter chicken.....

  14. Like that one? How about, I'm indirectly related to Vince Colosimo.

My cousin's cousin's best man at their wedding is Vince's cousin.

Yep, you heard it here first, on usenet, so it must be true.

I don't know if they had motorcycles at their wedding (desparately trying to
    keep on topic).

Heh heh; as an ex Datto man I can appreciate that!
I used to have a '68 1600 with the SSS gear and an L18 engine and later a rorty '72 1600 with the twin carbs,
a 5-speed box, extractors etc etc.
I had a drag once and my sister's Laser was quicker so I gave up on cars and stuck with...
    ....OBMOTO just for you Intact....
    ....bikes instead!
