    AOL.
We have some old skis and a pair of cross-country skis in the loft at
'the chateau'. If we had actually got there for Xmas I probably would
    have brought them home.

I could have operated a one person ski bus for SWMBO so that she could
kept repeating a run all the way down through Baggeridge Country Park.

I'd "heard" of them from reading a sci-fi book the other month[1], but
didn't know they existed on earth.

  4. I was in Osorno last year. It's got some nice architecture here and
there - I do love the wooden buildings of that region - but the town
itself is a bit hicksville. As you'd expect, I suppose.

Off to Santa Cruz today, stopping over.

They certainly used to in SA though I've not seen or heard any sign of
    animosity on this trip.

If I told you where exactly, would you know it? First near Yelverton,
then near Tavistock, then some tor that I don't know the name of.
Well, we call it snow-kiting, but that term is applicable to using skis as
well, which is just plain wrong. But yes, I have been. And it rocks.
There is a little bit that my mate took, we got some last year too. I'm
kinda chuffed that this is the second year we've managed it.

Last weekend was all a bit rushed. Partly due to the wind which didn't
play ball until about 3.30pm, so we were more concerned about having fun,
    than recording it for posterity.

Everything has melted away "in town" as it hit +8C yesterday, although a
frost overnight and a mere +5C today might leave some snow on the moors,
which one webcam would seem to confirm. Problem being that the wind we
were expecting on Saturday seems to be coming in early and not lasting so
long, so should be gone by the morning. We'll see.

There are a couple of months left yet. Bring it on, and **** the
    whingers.

With the possible exception of Wing Suits the two things I *really* regret
missing out on are a 40k+ft HALO jump and skiing at high speed over a X000ft
cliff wearing a Raps or Base rig and a (helmet cam)

I have a handsome three foot icicle hanging off a gutter and I'm
wondering whether to put it up on ebay.

Now leave the Welsh out of this. And the Porridge wogs and Pikey's.

30% nitro fuel (the rest being around 22% oil topped up with methanol) costs
around 30 quid a gallon. More if you use CoolPower coz that's a septic
    gallon.

Methanol retails for around 12-15 quid a gal.

Wouldn't want one landing on my head either.

Actually, this icicle only formed where it did because a bit of
my gutter fell off a year ago and I haven't quite got around to
    repairing it.
