Hey Adrian,
There are cheap air fares, and if you know someone in NZ willing to
just lend you a bike with current insurance, on the understanding that
you will lend him/her YOUR bike when he/she comes to Ozz, could
be a much cheaper alternative. You might need to front up with the
cash for the insurance excess ahead of borrowing the bike though.
Just in case. Dunno what age you are, but if you are over 25 and
an experienced rider, it might work for you.

Your pictures made me realize I've never been to those places,
although I've lived in Christchurch for the last 40 something years.
I must buy another Suzuki or BMW tourer and get down there for a
holiday. Your pics are great. Glad you all enjoyed your New Zealand
holiday.
