Ok so I've got the procmail filters set up to bounce profanity back where
it came from for half a dozen mailing lists. So some Johny sends an email
to with a forged 'From' header. It turns up and then gets
bounced back for having a bad word in it. IE It gets rejected by me for
profanity, an X-loop header gets added so if it comes back again, I
recognise it and send it /dev/null. However the poxy software they use
removes the X-loop header before it sends it back. The server has just
gone past (looks) 2567 emails sent back to hilton.com. I've emailed them
to no avail. Well never mind there exchange server will just fill up. Mine
won't, the emails are not stored, but the email size is now 1.2Mb and
going up. Tw*ts. I hate being email bombed by useless c*nts.

 

Can't you just use hotmail?

**** me it was great. It did take me a little time to realise you're not
expected to do anything yourself, though, nor was it even remotely
tolerated either. But I got used to it pretty damn quickly...

Bounce? Why on earth are bothering to bounce it? It'll almost
certainly not go to the real originator of the email, so you're just
mail bombing someone else.

 

Basically because of the mailing lists. Normally it does everything silent.

I was really having a rant at the ineptitude of such a large
organisation.

 

Just bung it in /dev/null in the first place, then you don't have a
problem.
