  1. That is *exactly* what my old MZ did. I thought a poltergeist had got
    into it.

I don't remember my Dad ever needing to do that. I remember him opening
the bonnet to use the kick starter though. The ultra tight turning
circle was usually enough and if the worst came to the worst, the things
were light enough to push backwards without too much effort.

I don't think they all did it. The ones with Dynastarts cold be
started ether way, but logic suggests that a kick-start only model
would be a bit more tricky to start in reverse. And, of course, at
one time a three-wheeler had to be 'forwards only' if you were going
to drive it on a motor cycle licence.

'course, the fact that he kick started it doesn't rule out it being
Dynastart. The electrics were a bit dodgy on those, especially the
chaneover from starter to dynamo. Once you got the thing so it would
charge OK, it was better to leave it that way and ude the kick start
    instead.
The other common trick to turn a non-reversing three-wheeler around
was to drive them up the road verge, then let it roll backeards down
again - works with sidecars too.

  4. I fort the trick with the bond things was to get out, pick up the front end
    and turn it round, wheelbarrow-style.

Beav was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
In a day or two? Sounds like the bloke who "won" the auction on my
    Mazda...
