more damage? (was Blackbird front wheel?)

Sorry, but I'm getting a bit nervous since I'll be returning to France
next week with my new-found front wheel from a breakers. I need the
bike to be OK for the ride back to the ferry, and whilst I'll attempt
to get the garage to check, using my best Franglais, I wondered if
going over a jaw-numbing obstacle sharp enough to dent two wheels
could also have done other damage to things like forks and suspension?
I only rode it a mile or so after the incident before realising that
the front tyre was going down, so can't really remember if it felt OK
or not. Does it take much to damage the forks etc?

Hi Danny! I still think your website is the *definitive* Web guide to
espresso machines and your home made roaster is purely genius, but the
ukra link on your hifi and valve radio page Return to the UK.REC.AUDIO
welcome page leads only to my own website now - I hived off the ukra
    pages a long time ago!

Yes... given that your bike passed over the obstacle the forks should be
OK. Replacing the front wheel makes it easy to check any displacement.
You can have an idea the health of the hydraulics by pumping on them a
bit, and try to ride 100 yards or so without the handle bar and see if
you must compensate by leaning on one side.
