In planning my spring trip to LV, I'm thinking of coming back 395, rather than over Walker Pass/Lake Isabella, which is my route down there. It will be mid-March, so all of the passes, other than 88 and 50 should be closed, but I love 395, and would hate to miss it, so I'll probably come back that way. A couple of questions for those who have experience with these routes: 1. Is 88 between Douglas, NV and Hwy 89 really as straight and boring as it looks on the map (and if so, should I just go up over 50)? 2. On a separate issue, I was thinking of going 95 north out of LV and taking Hwy 6 to Hwy 120 through Humbolt-Toiyabe Nat'l Forest to get to 395. Is that route a very nice ride? As always, any opinions and experiences much appreciated. EJ
