I went to a pub quiz in Stevenage once. First question was "Wotchoo

I wouldn't go that far. Have you tried anti-depressants?

No thank deity of your choice. But the mopeds and cycle tracks
phenomenon is alive and in danger of being decapitated in Derby.
I haven't been to a pub quiz for ages. Time to rememdy this.

    Lady Nina says...
Graham from GLF Acessories put together a team for a Bike Night quiz
down at a local pub. There was Graham, myself and Jon Haley from OnLine
racing. We came 2nd out of 22 teams. It was whispered that I knew more
answers than anyone else in the pub. It was also shouted out loud that I
was a sad bastard who ought to get a life.

I took the quizmaster to task on one main point. One round was an
'Identify the bike' round. A piece of A4 paper was handed to each team
and we were to identify the bikes whose photos were printed on it. When
the answers were being read out for marking we got to a photo of what he
called a KH250 with the sidepanel badges blurred out, I correctly
informed him that it was in fact a KH400A4. He asked how I could be so
exact, so I pointed out the larger side fins on the cylinder head and
the fact that the 250 was never made in Candy Royal Purple and that only
the 400A4 was made in that colour. I was given a funny look by the
quizmaster and told not to push the point by my team captain. I don't
know if the LI150 Lambretta, as I identified it, was given a point when
he called it a Series 2. LIs were series 2 models IIRC.

    the door :)

Not nearly so effective in stopping outlaw bikers, I would have
thought. Black-painted razor wire at (mounted) neck height, strung
across the path and tensioned, OTOH ...

I suppose there are no speed restrictions on cycle lanes either

geoff () gurgled happily, sounding much like they were
    saying :
Of course not - there's no speed limit on bicycles at all.

Only "pedalling furiously", and there's no points on that, because there's
    no need for a licence.

  8. There are no restrictions on pedal cycles.

Where motor vehicles are allowed to use a cycle lane, their
speed restrictions will apply to the whole width of the road
(but a few vary with direction of travel, apparently).
