    Oh dear.
I reckon the CBR dropped sand into the sump in a fit of jealousy

    Nah, that's a girl's bike ... <voices off> ...

    "Yes Dear".

Funnily enough, I've been trawling ebay and there's a _very_
    reasonably priced ZZR1100 lump*cough*

Summat'll turn up and it will keep me away from the turkey. I'm quite
looking forward to finding a completely outlandish motor, chopping the
frame out, sliding the motor in on a trolley jack and just welding it
in when the chain pulls tight iyswim ;-)

Champ was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
Or a Thundercat engine. According to some Oirish nutter I spoke to at
the Stafford show it fits the YB7 with very little work (it's got an
FZR400RR engine) so it should be pretty easy to get into an FZ400
    frame.

So, as it's the same physical size, and will be nontoo expensive..

    Fazer engine.

Shirley nothing is impossible? Given a willing assistant, an angle
grinder and a MIG welder, anything can be made to fit a steel box
frame. It may posses all the cornering ability of a pissed pig on a
tea trolley, but wouldn't be much worse than some of the hinged-framed
shite from the factories. Having seen car engines in bike frames, owt
    would go in.
Indeed, and practically speaking, that's prolly what we'll end up
doing. The Xmas vac is upon us, so there's three weeks of leeway to
sort it. A good coat of matt black and nobody will know any different
    ;-)

Game on, Timo. That's interesting indeed. There must be more 'Cat
engines about than the total of FZs in the UK.

Have you investigated the proportions of a spare CB250RS engine yet?

    ZX9-r

Carbon fibre hugger; don't know if it was worth it.

    K100

    - Fuel and temp. gauges
Definately worth it although a bit expensive.

    - High screen (Motorworks +4")
Definitely worth it; when smoking I could smoke a fag at a ton and ride
    with an open face helmet

    - Heated grips
Definitely worth it; hands stay warm no matter how long the journey

    - Bar Muffs
Definitely worth it; hands stay dry

    - Large Top Box
Definitely worth it; have enough storage capacity so I can ride bike to
airport and change in carpark into suit then go on business trips for a
couple of days with no probs; all bike kit can stay in panniers/topbox.

    - GPS
Very useful if going somewhere for the first time although the fact I
have a map available at a glance 'open at the right page' is the main
    thing.

    - RS wheels
Not so sure... these were the either the Mk2 ones or the K1100 ones, not
the Mk1 as advertised and I think I'll need new disks and calipers (lots
of money) and if unlucky new forks... Not sure if the rear wheel will
    fit either.

To be added at some future date

    Crash bars...
    Spotlights...
    Radio...

I have a rubber tube over the security device key. To lock the bike up
I have to remove the tube- when I do this I place it over the ignition
key. There is then no-fucking-way I can ride off with the bike locked
    up... again[1]

[1] Offsite thing at work several years ago. ZXR750 parked (on gravel),
rode off and fell off in front of about 300 people...

    "farmer's market"

    Those things make me spit.

They aren't fucking farmers, they're all burnt out fecking cunts that
are selling some other cunts olives, cheese and whatever other fucking
crap that gets hoiked out to the fucking middle-classed pretentious
    cunts.

Yes, in a bad mood (again); car trouble post explains all...

I'm sure I've come across someone who put an FZR1000 engine into an
    FZR400RRSP once upon a time.

Can't for the life of me remember where I saw it though.

    [dead Rat]
Game on. That would be a hoot-an-a-half, that would - until you come
to a corner, that is ;-0
Darnit. I've got a bit of a twitch on here - and the best thing is, I
wouldn't have to ride it ...
